In general, treatment with Promodil-AT is well tolerated.

Overall side effects include fatigue, headache, light headedness, drowsiness, anxiety and depression.

The contractile process of cardiac muscle and vascular smooth muscle are dependent upon the movement of extra cellular calcium ions into these cells, through specific ion channel.

Amlodipine besylate is a dihydropyridine calcium antagonist that inhibits the transmembrane influx of calcium ion into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle. Amlodipine acts directly on vascular smooth muscle to cause a reduction in peripheral vascular resistance and reduction in blood pressure.

Atenolol is a beta-selective (cardioselective) adrenergic receptor blocking agent without membrane (Partial agonist) stabilising or intrinsic sympathomimetic activities. This results in to reduction in resting and exercise heart rate and cardiac output and reduction of systolic and diastolic blood pressure at rest and on exercise.
