CELCOXX Capsule

Patients

- with known hypersensitivity to celecoxib.

- who have demonstrated allergic-type reactions to sulfonamides.

- who have experienced asthma, urticaria, or allergic-type reactions after taking acetyl salicylic acid (ASA) or other NSAIDs including other COX-2 specific inhibitors. Severe, rarely fatal, anaphylactic-like reactions to NSAIDs have been reported in such patients.

- with renal impairment associated with creatinine clearance of <30mL/min.

- with severe hepatic impairment (Child-Push Class C).

- who have previously had a myocardial infarction or stroke.

- for the treatment of peri-operative pain in the setting of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery.

- with active peptic ulceration or gastrointestinal bleeding and inflammatory bowel disease.

- with established ischaemic heart disease (congestive heart failure), peripheral arterial disease and/or cerebrovascular disease.

- General:drugs that are known to inhibit CYP2C9, patients who are known or suspected to be CYP2S9 poor metabolizers based on a previous history,

- ACE Inhibitors and AngiotensinⅡantagonists,

- Furosemide,

- Aspirin,

- Fluconazole,

- Lithium,

- Warfarin,

- Antacid,

- Glucocorticoid.

Pregnancy

Celecoxib should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit hustifies the potential risk to the fetus. In late pregnancy, starting at 30 weeks gestation, celecoxib should be aboided because it may cause premature closure of the ductus arteriosus.

Nursing mothers

Because may drugs are excreted in human milk and because of the potential for serious adverse reactions in nursing infants from celecoxib, a decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing or to discontinue the drug, taking into account the importance of the drug to the mother.
