CALCI-D Tablet

Calci-D is used as a calcium supplement in deficiency states, in growing children, in the elderly are been osteoporosis, in person are treating with corticosteroids.

Dosage and Administration

- Adults: 1 tablet, 3 times/day

- Children: 1 tablet, 2 times/day.

- Hypersensitivity to any components of this drug.

- Hypercalcaemia, hypercalciuria, heavy kidney diseases.

High dose use can cause syndrome of “hypercalcaemia, hypercalciuria including anorexia, vomiting, nausea, constipation, abdominal pain, dry mouth, hydrodipsia and polyuria.

- Do not use Calci-D with thiazide diuretics, digitalis, verapamil cause increase hypercalcaemia.

- Calci-D reduce the absorption of tetracycline, doxycycline, levofloxacin, norfloxacin, ofloxacin, doses should be separated by least 3 hours.

Pregnancy

When use doses daily on demand, the drug is not harmful. Should not use larger doses of vitamin D3 is recommended (400IU) for pregnant women.

Lactation

Vitamin D3 excretes in breast milk. Do not use Vitamin D4 and larger doses of recommendation (400IU) for breast feeding.

Precautions in patients with renal impairment, calcium renal calculi, arterial lipoidosis, heart diseases.

- Calcium is needed by the body for healthy bones, muscles, nervous system, and heart. Calcium carbonate also is used as an antacid to relieve heartburn, acid indigestion, and upset stomach.

- The function of Vitamin D3 enhances absorption of calcium and phosphor in intestine.
