CASIN Tablet

Spondylosis deformans, lumbago, hernia of disc, spondylosis, vertebral osteoporosis, cervicobrachial syndrome, herniation of nucleus pulposus, ectopic symptoms.

Dosage and Administration

Adults: 2 tablets, 3 times daily.

Patient hypersensitivity to this drug.

Most common untoward effects are drowsiness and dizziness. Adverse reactions noted occasionally include gastrointestinal disturbances, paradoxical stimulation, nervousness, insomnia, headache and asthenia, rash and pruritus occur rarely.

Side effects include epigastric distress, nausea. Centrally acting muscle relaxants commonly produce blurred vision, weakness, lethargy, ataxia and nystagmus. Vomiting, heartburn, abdominal distress are also observed after large oral doses. Hypersensitivity reactions include rarely anaphylactoid reaction and leukopenia.

It noncompetitively antagonized histamine, acetyl choline, norepinephrine and oxytocin in isolated guinea pig intestine ad trachea and in rat vas deferens and uterus.

It potentiated the hexobarbital induced sleeping time in mice and its ED50 value was 99mg/kg.

This product should be avoided by women who are or may be pregnant because the possible teratogenic effects of this compound are not well understood.

Persons taking drug should not drive, operate machinery, or undertake activities that require alertness, judgment, or mentation. This drug probably has an addiction liability, as to other carbamates.

This product may be aggravate pre-existing liver disease, or impaired hepatic function.

Chlorphenesin carbamate cause skeletal, muscular relaxation, without loss of consciousness, as result of selective action upon CNS. Promiment effect of muscle relaxants is to depress spinal polysynaptic reflexes preferentially over monosynaptic reflexes. Mechanism of action remains to be elucidated.
