ZINEC Tablet

Basic treatment of seasonal rhinitis and conjunctivitis, perennial allergic rhinitis, pruritus and urticaria of allergic origin.

Dosage & Administration

Children above 12 years and adults: 1 tablet once a day

It is advisable to take ZINEC tablet with some liquid during the evening meal since the symptoms for which it is given usually appear during the night. It patients sensitive to side effects, it is recommended to take 5mg in the morning and 5mg in the evening.

Patients with a history of hypersensitivity to any constituents of ZINEC tablet.

As far as its side effects are concerned, cetirizine administered at recommended dosed does not differ significantly from placebo (agitation, dry mouth, drowsiness, headache).

Symptoms hypersensitivity have been rarely reported.

No interaction has been reported so far.

However, caution should be advised when taking sedatives.

Teratological studies carried out in animals did not evidence any particular malformation. However, as a precaution, cetirizine should not be administered to pregnant women during the period of organogenesis. The same applies to lactation period.

1) At therapeutical doses, cetirizine dose not potentiate the effects of alcohol (for a blood concentration of 0.8g/L). However, caution is imperative.

2) Studies carried out in healthy volunteers receiving 20 or 25mg/day did not evidence any change in vigilance and reaction time. However, the patients should be advised not to exceed these doses and should be cautious in this respect.
